Front end sounds like it’s popping

Well it appears some friend got stuck and used my 06 650 H1 for a recovery vehicle. Now when I drive it, it sounds like there is a popping/noise coming from front output shaft or drive shaft. I am not a mechanic but have jacked it up and it only does it while it is running and in drive. I shut it off and spin tires it does not happen. It only appears to do it when it gets the gas. I am not a mechanic please help.

Sounds like bevel gears, Early Prowlers were prone to have this problem. Arctic Cat came out somewhere around 2008 with a new design. A retro kit is available. This will entail removing the engine and tearing it down completely. Download a service manual from K&T lawn equipment, or Country Cat. To have a dealer fix this will be expensive. You might want to consider a rebuilt motor from powersportsnation.

Thanks, I will definitely look into this, it’s unfortunate that this has happened. The rebuilt motor sounds like a good start!!

Nice thing about the rebuilt motor is a warranty. I'd highly recommend Power Sports Nation, I've purchased many used parts from them and have never been burned! I've seen too many motors that were claimed to be in good shape and they end up as scrap. Depending on what you do with your Prowler, the cost of a rebuilt motor is cheap compared to buying a new one!
