I have an 07 650h1 and due to starting or lack of when the engine is hot I am considering changing the impulse pump to a low pressure electric. Has anyone considered this or am I looking down the wrong path ?
I'd be concerned with fuel pressure to the carb, I'm thinking a regulator would be needed. Some things are better off left alone, but Prowler people like to experiment! LOL
I have some pumps that are 2 to 4 psi. I still Havnt figured out what the pressure is or should be. Anyway my main concern is starting when hot and seems to break down around 3500 rpm under load . If I prime it when it's hot I have to remove the plug to clear the cylinder. I had a manual enrichment installed but the cable would pull out and flood the engine more. Any ideas ?
Not sure what the fuel pressure should be. Been a lot of discussions on blocking the vent line in order to keep fuel at the carb, seems they bleed back. Breaking down at 3,500 could be fuel related. How does the plug look after a hard run?
No on the vent line. It is the one off the carb. Black plug indicates you are running rich, either the choke is not opening completely, or your jet size is to large. Need some input from a carb person!
