I have noticed that cat is making a big deal in their '10 advertising about "shift on the fly 4wd". So I got the infamous owners manual out on my '09 550 Prowler. All this POS talks about is coming to a "complete" stop to engage the differential lock. Does this mean you have to stop, to shift from 2wd to 4wd. I have enough problems (brake chatter sounds like a midget hid out with an auto AK47 under the wonderful plastic skid plate), steering shaft rubbing against frame (watch for this or it could cut through the shaft, headlight not working, (I could go on but I'm sure ya'll know what I'm talking about). Only got 36 miles on it. 2wd to 4wd may be elementary but I need to know.

Thanks

Your 09 is shift on the fly also. You only have to stop to engage the diff lock to keep the tires from spinning at different speeds which would damage a diff as it's locking.
AC making a big deal in the new ads and such is making several wonder the same question you've asked.
