Hi everyone Glad to have found you. Won't start, had cam done early, ran great for almost 7,000 mi. Set lash, new plug, good spark, good fuel, lines full, won't fire even with ether. Please help.

Did it jump time? If you have spark, and fuel it should fire. I'd check timing, and compression, the head gaskets on these do periodically fail! Hey Hotrod, just noticed your from Hillman, any good riding areas over there? I'm in Reed City and ride Lake County Trails, been to the upper a couple of times Drummond Island was a blast, ran into a great big bear! Thankfully my reverse works! Rode Whitefish Point and that was also great! This year I made my Street Legal as we use the Prowler 90% of the time during the summer. Welcome to the site.
Thank You so much for the reply. In answer to your question about riding. You gotta come here and ride. Its Great!! Do you know of anyone that may offer a printed repair manual for my Prowler. I tried to get one from the dealer but all they had was on CD and it was stupid expensive. I have not idea how to check the timing. Any tips would be priceless. Thanks Again.
You can download a repair/service manual at K&T lawn and garden. Checking the timing is easy, there is a socket plug on the right side of the motor, it is about 5-6" back from your oil fill. There is a pointer cast in the case. Pull your cover off the top end to expose the cam, on the driver side of the cam you you will see a line across the cam journal. Pull your plug so you can rotate the engine by hand. I remove the stator cover on the passenger side to expose the nut on the crankshaft. I rotate the engine until the timing mark (under the removed plug) lines up with the pointer. Next check the line on the camshaft, it should be parallel to the cylinder head. The valves at this point should have clearance under them on both intake, and exhaust. Good to hear about riding, I'll have to add that to my Must visit list! I'll pm you to give you a phone number if you would like to talk. Still looking for people in MI.

Here's a link where you can download the manual he was talking about. I don't think they have one for the 2006 but the 2007 is pretty much the same.
"K&T Parts House Lawn Mower Parts and Chain Saw & Trimmer Parts"
I have to write that down somewhere Mike! RD here

I thought that was you , I need to download as many manuals as I can just in case they ever stop providing them.
I noticed that too, and had much the same thought! Hard to beat free stuff! How's Mo.?

Pretty wet the last several days with more rain on the way. We've been keeping busy trying to get our department ready for the Warrior Dash coming to our town. They said to expect 6,000-7,000 runners not counting spectators :pat: we only have a population of 4,500!
Hard to believe how many people run! The hospital I worked at sponsored a 5K run every year, and it got hard to find a space to park all of the cars!

Should be interesting they told us to expect 3,200 cars and approx 100 patients everything from scraps to broken bones and they have had fatalities at some events.
We had aid stations throughout the run, and they did receive a lot of business!
