Welcome to the site! I have the XTX model, and I installed a second battery on the upper frame rail behind the drivers seat back area. It is shielded by the wheelwell. Several thoughts on the use of a second battery. Some suggest one large battery, others decide two are the answer. Hook ups are numerous! I use a switch controlled continuous duty solenoid to connect/did-connect mine.
I usually run with both batteries in service. The solenoid will not allow the switching of the batteries, either the stock, or both batteries is the only option. I just wanted a quick means to disconnect the second battery.
