my xtx700 is hard to go in reverse.it grinds when trying to get it in reverse and when you do get it in it seems to be ok what could be the prob..

Remove the center console and try it. My 650 frame holding the gear shift was bent preventing the shifter from fully engaging the trans in reverse.
