Unfortunately (for me) I purchased the Elka shocks for sale by MCADDYMAN 2 weeks ago. This was the link(http://www.prowlerforums.net/forums/sale/199-elka-shocks-set-4-used.html)
The good news - they are beautiful and in perfect shape - Elka Elites with all the bells and whistles, originally purchased (per Elka) by Arctic Cat for their long travel 2008 650. It looks like they have hardly been used, just a little dirty. They have the manual and tools and 1 of the original boxes (shipped to AC).
The bad news - I bought them for a stock 2006 650 - which is what they were described as. I should have asked for the measurements.
Now MCADDYMAN has disappeared and I have shocks I can't use.
They cost over $3200 new. I'd like to sell for $950 plus freight which is what I paid.
I talked with Elka tech service who told me the rears might work for the 1000 or would definitely work for long travel. The fronts are 19" and the rears are 20". Attached are more photos. I also have the shock serial numbers if someone wants to check the build details with Elka. I can list on E Bay or sell via PayPal if anyone is interested. Would be a super deal for someone who can use them. Cell # 518-461-7216.

any more info. on if they'll fit a 1000?
Won't fit without rework from Elka, $1500 (plus freight) to get them to fit a stock travel 650. Probably the same for a 1000. They are made for long travel and need different springs and rods for the shorter shock application. So for about $2,500 in total - they would work for stock. Too pricey for me.
So I am now working on getting my $$ back.
Another case of a deal too good to be true. I should have known better.
don't feel bad....i'm pretty good about doing my homework, etc. on stuff like this...

when my buddy wanted to try a set of elkas on his banshee, i found a used set on the net......good price, nice to deal with, etc.....he said he took them off of a banshee.......so we sent him payment.....when they came they were way to short and the rear was too long.....called elka with the # and they claimed they'd only fit a 250x!:ugh1: ....wound up, the buddy threw them on the bay and got his money back (he disclosed all info.)

i think he kept the rear shock, elka would rework it for like 150 or something like that.....

thanks for being up front...
Have you been able to get in touch with the seller?
