I have a XTX 700 and it’s a little loud in the cab, I find myself yelling to my wife while we are out ridding or turning up the radio to drown out the noise. Has anyone found a way to reduce the cab noise?

Yea, I have an enclosed cab, and it is so loud in there, you can't talk to the person next to you. If anyone knows of a way to cut down the motor noise I am also interested.

my buddy's rhino is the same way......i've been looking for a cab for my xtz and was think it would be the same way being that the intake is right under your arm

could some dynomat, like what is used in sound deadening for car stereos, be used under the engine cover....i don't see how it could effect cooling of the engine as long as you don't cover the little gaps....

I wrapped the exhaust pipe from the head to the muffler with header wrap and it helped alot. I figured if it did make the pipe rust, i'll have the new one ceramic coated. I'll add some dynomat before this summer.

Yes, I've come up with a way to cut out some noise in the cab and that is to glue on some foam insulation to the underside of the motor cover. It doesn't block out all of the cab noise but it sure cut down on some !! That is for my 08 prowler !!

With the Foam insulation, do you have problems with the heat?

i'm trying some sound deadening material under mine. i will update when i get done with it.

I used Dynamat on my buddys Ranger under the seat and filled the gaps around the seat it probally cut it in half! I plan on the same on my new 700 XTX

Strange how they are so loud in the cab but very quite to an outside ear.

I went to lowes and paid 15.00 for aluminum roof repair (i know i'm cheap). works pretty good helped alot.

the ultimate end to your motor noise issues.... Intercoms! plug in your ipod, listen to music and when you or your passenger talks the music cuts down.

I went down to the hard ware store and bought some inch and half water line insulation. Then i stuffed it in between the seats and the bed to fill the gap seemed to help out alittle. Very cheap fix.

try stuffing a piece of water line insulation in between the seats and the the bed to fill the gap. seems to help alittle

I used 3/4" foam insulation with alum tape over it. It made a big difference in the noise

Where did you get the 3/4 insulation with foil? And where did you put it?
what did you use to make it stick?

Go to an auto repair shop and get some door noise deading material. It is really stickey and about 1/4 thick. It comes in 12X12 sheets and will work great. Just cut it to fit around all of the corners. You have to put it on in warm weather or the sheets will break.

me and my buddy used some soundproof sheets it is a menbrane with a foil on the other side, cuts a lot of that sound,bought that at napa autoparts
