Ok so I changed the stator as it was bad ana now after I have put it back together it cranks like the battery is dead even doe I had installed a New one. Is it the starter or I installed something wrong on the stator side of the case?
Looking at both posts, with your sparkplug out is it hard to turn by hand? Will your starter turn it freely? With a new battery, you should see 10.5 volts at the starter while cranking, any thing less and your starter needs replaced.
When I replaced the stator, I turned the gears so that the water pump impeller set in its place so I think the issue is the starter then! I should know this week when I install the new starter. Thanks for the help and will update the post soon!
i have one doing the same thing and removed the cover, it appears that the starter clutch may be coming apart. will a 700 starter clutch and flywheel work on an 2008 650 xt?
I ran the part numbers, and they show the same numbers for the 650, and 700 machines. 700's are pretty much the same throughout the years. I use the arctic cat store for parts look ups. Easy to use.
Thanks gentlemen. I haven't had this thing but about 6 months and already rebuilt the motor. I think the instrument cluster has been changed, as it only shows 400 hours and 2800 miles.
