I have not done that axel myself before but most of the axels I have done have some sort of clip system in place to hold it on. Dig around in the grease to see if you can find anything. To make it easier look at the parts fish on AC website that will show you the whole break down of the axel. Some require that you just smack it off with a hammer (try and use brass). When you do get it all back together make sure you get the straps on their tight!
There are no clips on the outer end of the axle that hold the cv in place, only the inner end. Once the knuckle assembly is released from the upper a-arm, the cv should slide out. Sometimes it takes a little coercing with a rubber mallet.
