Accelerating begins sputtering until it backfires. Installed new plugs and fuel filter. Fuel pump sounds different.

What did the plugs look like when you pulled them ? Any exhaust leaks ?

Did you figure out the sputtering? I am having a similar issue. Idling sounds a little off. I think the fuel pump is gone bad?

Fuel pressure should tell if the pump is failing. Should have 43 psi minimum.

Did some research on it. In many cases it is the o-rings/seals in the throttle body and injectors that go bad because the machine has been sitting for a while. I ordered new ones, hope to back up and running soon.

Anyone ever figure this out? I’m having a similar issue with a 2010 1000XTZ. I just hate throwing parts at it. How did you test the fuel
pressure the pump is putting out?

I’m working to replace the filter on the pump pick up but they’re hard to get a hand on. I guess I’ll try to figure a pressure test on the pump. Short of that, is the third step replacing o-rings on the throttle body and injectors???
