i I have a friend who owns a 2009 prowler 1000 , he recently brought it to a local dealer and receiver a verdit that there was metals everywhere in his engine and he needed a new engine at $8000 I'm an automotive mecanic but haven't checked it out yet. Who you have any companies you suggest for either a rebuilt or a short block?*

a new motor is about 2200.00 online and you can change it out yourself to save labor

Where can u find a motor for that price? A 1000cc?

The best I've found is in the 5,000.00 USD range. I would check the rocker arm area on both cylinders, and the oil pump driven gear before I'd commit to a new engine. There was a history of oil pump gear failures in the past, but not sure about the 1000. Try the following site. www.nflowmotorsports.com
